Dentstar (tm)  AV Putty
Putty impression material, addition cured silicone.


Indication
Primary impressions for the double-impression technique in conjunction with Dentstar AV-Quick Light.

Classification
Dentstar AV Putty meets the requirements of:
   ISO 4823:1992 (E) Type 0: very high consistency - putty
   DIN 13913-A1: Impression material

General
Dentstar AV Putty is a knedable precision impression material based on addition curing vinyl silicone. It is a hydrophilic and compatible with moist surfaces, easy to mix and not sticky.

Storage
The shelf life is at least 3 years, when stored at 23 °C (74 °F).

Note: Do not store above 25 °C (78 °F)

Precautions
Do not use latex gloves! Recommended are gloves based on PVC or polyethylene.
Do not use with standard (condensation reaction type) silicone impression materials.
Do not interchange lids of jars or spoons!

Dispensing and mixing
Use equal parts in volume or weight of base paste and catalyst paste (at room temperature and normal humidity). Take the base paste with the coloured spoon and the catalyst with the white spoon. Knead the components with the fingertips at least for 45 seconds until the colour is homogenous.

Note: After use close the jars immediately!

Impression Taking
In order to improve adhasion of Dentstar AV Putty to the tray ADHESIVE should be applied as a thin even film. Dry for 3 minutes.
The ready kneaded material is loaded into the prepared tray. Insert the loaded tray in the mouth not later then 2 minutes after start of mix. This position should be mainteined for at least 3 minutes. Then the tray can be taken out.

Desinfection
Impressions can be desinfected with standard desinfection solutions.

Electroplating
Impressions can be copper- or silverplated.

Casting
The impression should be stored at normal room temperature (max 25 °C / 78 °F).
The impression can be poured 30 minutes after removal from the mouth (for ex. Moldano/BAYER). There are no other time limitations.

Note: Times mentioned are valid for room temperature 23 °C (74 °F) and normal humidity of 50%. Higher temperature shortens, lower temperature prolongs these times.
